This week, do not rush past this.

There is a tension you feel, even if you don’t always name it.

The desire to follow God…
and the desire to stay in control.

To trust Him—
but still hold onto your own direction.

To surrender—
but only in the places that feel safe.

And quietly, over time…
you begin to carry what was never meant to be yours.

Because control always comes with weight.

But you were never meant to hold it all together.

His Name is Adonai — Lord, Master.

The One who does not ask for partial authority…
but rightful place.

“O Lord, our Lord,
how excellent is Your name in all the earth.”
— Psalm 8:1

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He shall direct your paths.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6

To call Him Lord is not just to recognize who He is.

It is to release who you have been trying to be.

Not the one who has to figure everything out.
Not the one who has to control every outcome.
Not the one who has to hold everything together.

But surrender is not easy.

Because it feels like loss.

Like giving something up.
Like stepping into uncertainty.

But what if surrender is not loss…
but relief?

What if it is the moment you lay down a weight
you were never meant to carry?

Adonai is not trying to take something from you.

He is trying to lead you.

And He does not lead from a distance.

He leads as One who sees, who knows, who is present.

So, stop here and breathe for a moment.

Notice what you are still holding tightly.

The decisions.
The outcomes.
The need to make things happen.

And slowly…
release it.

You do not have to be your own master.

You already have a Lord.

Reflect

What are you still trying to control?

What would it look like to truly let Him lead?

Prayer

Adonai,

You are Lord.
Not just in name, but in truth.

Forgive me for the ways I have tried
to lead my own life apart from You.

For the weight I have carried
by holding onto control.

Teach me to trust You fully.

To release what I’ve been gripping tightly.

To follow where You lead—
even when I do not see the full path.

You are not taking from me.

You are guiding me.

And I choose to trust You.

Amen.

If you’re ready to stop carrying everything on your own…
