This week, do not rush past this.
There are places in your life that feel unseen.
Moments no one noticed.
Prayers no one heard.
Pain no one stopped to ask about.
And over time…
it can begin to feel like even God has passed by you.
But He hasn’t.
His Name is El Roi — the God who sees.
Not in a distant, general way…
but personally.
Intentionally.
“Then she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her,
‘You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees’; for she said,
‘Have I also here seen Him who sees me?’”
— Genesis 16:13
Hagar was not in a place anyone would have expected God to meet her.
Alone.
Cast out.
Overlooked.
And yet…
God did not wait for her to return to a better place.
He met her there. Where she was at.
Not after she was restored.
Not after things made sense.
Right in the middle of what felt forgotten.
This is who He is.
El Roi does not overlook what others miss.
He sees the quiet battles.
The thoughts you don’t say out loud.
The weight you’ve learned to carry silently.
He sees the moments where you held yourself together…
when no one else knew you were falling apart.
And He is not observing from a distance.
He meets you there.
So, stop here and breathe for a moment.
You do not have to perform to be seen by Him.
You do not have to explain everything you’re feeling.
You are already known.
Already seen.
Already met.
Reflect
Where in your life have you felt unseen or overlooked?
What would change if you believed God sees you there?
Prayer
El Roi,
You see me fully—
not just the parts I show, but the places I hide.
Thank You for meeting me in moments
where I felt alone, overlooked, or forgotten.
Remind me that I am never outside Your sight.
Quiet the fear that I have been missed…
and anchor me in the truth that I am known by You.
Help me rest in being seen,
instead of striving to be noticed.
Amen.
If something in you feels unseen… don’t let it stay hidden.
