This week do not rush past this.

There is a kind of dryness that is hard to explain.

Not physical.

But real.

A sense that something within you
is not being filled.

You keep moving.

You keep doing what you know to do.

But underneath it…
something feels empty.

And in that place,
it is easy to start looking for something
that might refresh you.

Something that might bring life back
into what feels dry.

But nothing seems to last.

Because what you are experiencing
is not something that is surface level.

It is deeper than that.

His Name is Living Water.

Not something that temporarily refreshes…

but something that continually fills.

“Whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him
will never thirst.
But the water that I shall give him
will become in him a fountain of water
springing up into everlasting life.”
— John 4:14

Jesus spoke these words
to someone who knew what it meant
to keep coming back empty.

To keep reaching.

To keep trying to fill something
that never stayed full.

And instead of offering her
another temporary answer…

He offered something entirely different.

A source.

Not outside of her…

but within.

This is what we often miss.

We keep returning
to things that require constant refilling.

Constant effort.

Constant reaching.

But Living Water does not operate that way.

It does not leave you
searching again and again.

It becomes something within you.

Steady.

Present.

Alive.

And yet, dryness can still feel real.

Because awareness shifts.

Attention moves.

And what is present
can feel distant again.

So, stop here and breathe for a moment.

Where have you felt dry?

Where have you been returning
to things that cannot truly fill you?

You are not meant to live
in constant thirst.

You have been given
Living Water.

And He has not stopped flowing.

Reflect

Where in your life do you feel spiritually dry?

What have you been returning to that requires constant refilling?

Prayer

Jesus, Living Water,

You are what fills what I cannot.

Not temporarily…
but deeply.

Forgive me for the ways I have kept returning
to what leaves me empty again.

For the places I have looked
for refreshment apart from You.

Draw me back
into awareness of what You have already given.

Let Your life flow within me again.

Restore what feels dry.

Refresh what feels worn.

And teach me to remain in You…

not searching,

but receiving.

You are Living Water.

And I will trust You here.

Amen.
