This week; do not rush past this.
It is easy to speak about forgiveness
without fully feeling its weight.
To say the words.
To believe you are forgiven.
But to never stop long enough
to consider what it cost.
Because the deeper truth is this…
forgiveness is not free.
It is given freely…
but it was not without cost.
His Name is the Lamb of God.
Not symbolic.
Not distant.
Sacrificial.
“Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
— John 1:29
From the beginning,
a lamb represented something very specific.
Innocence given
in place of guilt.
Life given
so another could live.
And when Jesus was called the Lamb…
it was not a gentle image.
It was a declaration.
He came to be given.
For you.
This is what we often move past too quickly.
We accept forgiveness…
but we do not always sit with the cost of it.
The weight of sin.
The depth of what was required
to remove it.
But the cross was not an afterthought.
It was the reason He came.
The Lamb was not taken by surprise.
He was given with intention.
And in that moment,
everything that stood between you and God
was placed on Him.
Not partially.
Completely.
So, stop here and breathe for a moment.
Do not rush past this.
You are forgiven…
not because it was easy…
but because it was paid for.
Fully.
By the Lamb of God.
Reflect
When was the last time you truly considered the cost of your forgiveness?
How does it change the way you see Jesus when you remember what He carried for you?
Prayer
Jesus, Lamb of God,
You were given for me.
Not because I deserved it…
but because You chose it.
Forgive me for the ways I have taken lightly
what cost You everything.
Open my eyes to see the weight of what You carried.
The depth of Your sacrifice.
The love that held You there.
Let gratitude rise within me…
not just in words,
but in the way I live.
You gave Yourself for me.
And I will not rush past that.
Amen.
If you need a place to slow down and remember what was done for you…
