This week; do not rush past this.
There are battles in your life that do not look like battles.
Not loud.
Not obvious.
But constant.
The pressure you carry.
The thoughts you fight.
The weariness that settles in quietly over time.
And in those places…
it can begin to feel like you are alone in it.
Like it is all on you to hold the line.
But it isn’t.
His Name is Yahweh Nissi — The Lord is My Banner.
The One who stands over you in the battle.
The One who covers, who leads, who goes before.
“And Moses built an altar and called its name,
The-Lord-Is-My-Banner.”
— Exodus 17:15
The battle in that moment was real.
Israel was outmatched.
The outcome was uncertain.
And yet, victory was not determined
by strength alone…
but by where they were positioned.
As long as Moses’ hands were lifted,
the battle shifted.
Not because of human effort…
but because of dependence on God.
This is what we often miss.
You are not meant to fight your battles
by carrying everything on your own.
You are meant to stand under
the covering of the One who fights for you.
But it is easy to slip into striving.
To try to outthink, outwork, or outlast
what you’re facing.
And in that place…
exhaustion replaces trust.
But Yahweh Nissi does not call you
to stand alone in the fight.
He calls you to stand under Him.
Covered.
Held.
Not abandoned to your own strength.
So, stop here and breathe for a moment.
What are you fighting right now?
Where have you been carrying the weight
as if everything depends on you?
You are not alone in this.
You were never meant to be.
The battle may be real…
but so is the One who stands over you.
Reflect
What battle are you currently facing?
Where have you been relying on your own strength instead of God’s covering?
Prayer
Yahweh Nissi,
You are my banner…
my covering in the middle of the battle.
Forgive me for the ways I have tried
to fight on my own.
For the weight I have carried
as if everything depended on me.
Teach me to stand under You.
To trust that You go before me,
that You are with me,
and that I am not alone in what I face.
Strengthen me where I am weary.
Lift my eyes above the battle…
and anchor me in Your presence.
You are my covering.
And I will trust You here.
Amen.
If you need a place to stand with Him in the middle of what you’re facing…
