This week; do not rush past this.
There is a kind of peace you’ve learned to look for.
A quiet environment.
A resolved situation.
A moment where everything finally settles.
And when those things aren’t present…
it feels like peace isn’t either.
But what if peace was never meant to come
from everything around you being calm?
What if peace is not something you find…
but Someone you meet?
His Name is Yahweh Shalom — The Lord Is Peace.
Not the One who simply gives peace…
but the One who is it.
“So, Gideon built an altar there to the Lord,
and called it The-Lord-Is-Peace.”
— Judges 6:24
Gideon did not name God “Peace”
in the middle of calm.
He was surrounded by fear.
Uncertainty.
A situation that made no sense.
And yet…
in that place,
God revealed Himself.
Not by removing the chaos…
but by being present in it.
This is what we often miss.
We wait for everything to settle
before we allow ourselves to feel peace.
We tell ourselves:
“Once this is resolved… I’ll be okay.”
But Yahweh Shalom does not wait
for your circumstances to change
before He meets you.
He meets you in the middle of them.
Right where things feel uncertain.
Right where your thoughts won’t slow down.
Right where the outcome is still unknown.
And in that place…
He does something deeper
than changing your situation.
He steadies your heart.
So, stop here and breathe for a moment.
You do not need everything to be fixed
to experience peace.
You do not need answers
to feel settled.
You need Him.
Because peace is not the absence of chaos.
It is the presence of God.
Reflect
Where have you been waiting for circumstances to change before allowing yourself to feel peace?
What would it look like to meet God in the middle of what you’re facing right now?
Prayer
Yahweh Shalom,
You are peace…
not something I earn,
not something I create,
but something I receive in You.
Forgive me for the ways I have tied peace
to my circumstances.
For believing I must have everything figured out
before I can rest.
Meet me here, in the middle of what I’m facing.
Quiet the noise within me.
Steady my heart in Your presence.
Teach me to trust that You are enough…
even when nothing around me has changed.
You are my peace.
And I will rest in You.
Amen.
If you need a place to slow down and meet Him this week…
