This week, do not rush past this.

There is a quiet way we push God away without realizing it.

We place Him in the past—
in stories we’ve heard, moments we remember, things He once did.

Or we move Him into the future—
into what we hope He will do, someday, when things finally change.

And somewhere in between…
we miss Him.

But He has not moved.

His Name is YHWHI AM.

Not “I was.”
Not “I will be.”

I AM.

“And God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’
And He said, ‘Thus you shall say to the children of Israel,
“I AM has sent me to you.”’”
— Exodus 3:14

Moses was not looking for God in that moment.

He was in the middle of an ordinary day.

And yet…
God met him there.

Not as a distant idea.
Not as a memory.

But as presence.

This is who He is.

YHWH is not confined to a time you remember
or a moment you are waiting for.

He is present.

Right now.

In the middle of your questions.

In the middle of your uncertainty.

In the middle of a day that may feel completely ordinary.

You do not have to go back to find Him.

You do not have to wait to encounter Him.

He is not distant.

He is here.

And yet, it is easy to live as if He is not.

To move through your day without awareness.

To assume that this moment—this exact place you are in—
is somehow less significant.

But nothing about this moment is empty.

Because He is in it.

So, stop here and breathe for a moment.

Slow down enough to recognize where you actually are.

Not yesterday.
Not tomorrow.

Here.

And become aware of Him again.

Reflect

Where have you been living as if God is distant?

What would change if you became aware of His presence right now?

Prayer

YHWH,

You are not distant.
You are not waiting somewhere else.

You are here.

Forgive me for the ways I have lived
unaware of Your presence.

Open my eyes to recognize You in this moment.

Quiet the distractions that pull me away
from what is right in front of me.

Teach me to walk with You—
not in memory, not in anticipation,
but in awareness.

You are the great I AM.

And You are here.

Amen.

If you want to keep walking with Him—right here, right now—
